PLAIN SCONES Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups Self Raising Flour (sieved) 1 tbsp Baking Powder (sieved) 50gm Cold Butter (cut into small cubes) 2 tbsp Sugar 1 tsp Salt 1 cup Milk Optional: Clotted cream Good quality jam Lemon curd How to make: 1. Preheat oven to 200°C. 2. Dust the baking pan with flour. 3. Combine Self Raising flour and baking powder into a large bowl. 4. Add in sugar and salt. 5. Crumble the cold butter with your finger tips with the flour mixture. 6. Add in the milk and mix well. 7. Knead well. 8. Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 2cm - 3cm. 9. Cut the dough with a round cutter; depending on the size you want. 10. Brush the top of each scones with milk. 11. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. 12. Take the scones out from the oven and leave to cool. 13. Serve with clotted cream and a little jam.
