I've got a #SURPRISE!

12th July 2014, Saturday. 
It was just an ordinary day. 

 As usual, Chrie and I texting and messaging each other on the phone to pass the day. Today, it's just the same routine. Feeling a bit odd is the last message which mentioned "Wear nice nice tonight, ok", which I don't get its meaning at the first place. 

 As per requested, I dolled myself up for the night.

I was running a little late as the traffic is slightly congested tonight. While driving half way on the road, I received a phone call checking if there's anyone celebrating birthday tonight. As mentioned by the floor staff, the table reservation is made for birthday celebration and there are balloons on the table! Stoned for a second, I then reflect back what Chrie told me in the WhatsApp this evening - Chrie is throwing an advance surprise #birthday party for me! 

Once arrived, I saw balloons floating in the air and Chrie with a welcoming
sweet smile on her face. It melts my heart.


Right after; before I even get the chance to reach the menu, Chrie handed me a small white box. Taking a glance at it; I just can't stop smiling. My dream came true - it's an #Iphone5s (32Gb)!








You once joked about buying me an #Iphone5s without the camera because I selfie a lot and you gets bored with it. But you make it happened. Thank you Chrie for such a thoughtful gift. No words can describe how happy am I at that moment. I thought it was just a joke since the very beginning.

An hour later, the bar supervisor brought a huge plate to the table. It is a 
cake with wordings "HAPPY BI-EARLY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE". At that moment, I almost drop my tears. Getting to know it was you who went missing for some time just to hide yourself in the kitchen for this!






























Besides than gift and cake, more food and drinks, you got the band to sing most of my favorite songs throughout the night too! 

Home with the colorful balloons and a happy heart, I'm grateful for being such a lucky girl. 


To my dearest Chrie, I would like to thank you sincerely with all my heart for the wonderful moments. You continuously shower me with the greatest things that you could give. From laughing out with me all the time to playing me songs on the piano, you are just the best!

Also, a special thanks to those who celebrated my birthday with me on that night (You know who you are). 




Two days later...

It's just another day of surprises! I just can't ask for more.


*For your information, my birthday is still a month away which falls on #August #19th!

#COOKWITHME: KOREAN CORNBREAD / OKSUSU-PPANG (옥수수빵)

Hands up if you are big fan of #Corn ! Today we are going to make Cornbread, the Korean style - Oksusu-Ppang Oksusu (옥수수)  = Corn  Ppang (빵)  = Bread What is Oksusu-Ppang (옥수수빵) actually?  It is the memory of people who went to school decades before The American government was supporting Koreans' nutrition by sending them tons and tons of cornmeal. Some got the idea to make cornbread out of it and distribute the bread through the school system. After Korean War the school provided this daily snack to the students just before last class was finished. Oksusu-Ppang has an intense corn flavor and it's fluffy like a sponge.
