#CHILLWITHME: HOMEBAR21 | DAMANSARA UTAMA (KL)


Nothing beats the feeling being at home, and that's what HOMEBAR21 has got to offer. A speakeasy bar hidden on the first floor of the row of shop lots in Uptown Damansara, HOMEBAR21 is a place where you'd like to spend that quiet night. Owned by a friend of mine whom I met a few years ago, Mr. Sam Lum is the man behind the amazing speakeasy bar. 


HOMEBAR21 is located at the same row with The Good Batch and +Wondermilk. Look up to find the mini signage hung on the side. The bar might be a little hard to notice, especially at night. Take the stairs up and you'll notice a sign "NO STUPID PEOPLE BEYOND THIS POINT". Yes, you have found the right place! Don't freak out and press the doorbell. You'll be attended by the waiter in a short while. Not like ordinary bars that you often patronized, HOMEBAR21 is a hidden gem behind the closed door. 




Once you enter the place, you will walk pass the outdoor seating before entering the indoor, air conditioned area. You can chill with a glass of cocktail or beer at the main bar, or wine and dine at the sofa area. If you have a large group of friends and preferred a more private area or gathering, HOMEBAR21 offers large leather sofa with own TV and black curtain to cordon off the entire area. 





Being not the first, but a second check point on that night, we continued our chill out session with wine at HOMEBAR21. The wines are sold at a very reasonable price here. One can enjoy a good bottle of red wine from RM90 and above.





One of the item that I would like to highly recommend is the Smoked Duck. We requested the waiter to reheat the Smoked Duck for us and it tasted even better, in hot! If you do not know, snacks are prepared in a healthier frying method at HOMEBAR21. The bar uses Air Fryer to prepare your Fried Nuggets or even Fries! Now, you don't have to feel guilty snacking at night. Ohh, did I mention that the Smoked Duck only costs you RM 15?

While drinking my glass of wine, the humble boss came to our table and offered me a complimentary cocktail to try on. Made with an extra shot of alcohol and paired with a piece of ROYCE premium chocolate, this cocktail is definitely a winner I must say! 

If you're looking for a quiet and cozy place to have a couple of drinks, here's the perfect place to be. I absolutely love HOMEBAR21 and enjoyed chilling here, while watching Tom & Jerry show.

#DINEWITHME: BANH MI CAFE, PUCHONG

Hola #Saturday ! It's another blog on cafe review.  Let's go #Vietnamese this week. Hidden behind Columbia Asia Hospital in Bandar Puteri Puchong, this humble cafe serves cheap and delicious Vietnamese cuisines with very authentic flavors. Neither do I know this place actually exists although I've been staying around this area for the past few years. #COOKWITHME: KOREAN CORNBREAD / OKSUSU-PPANG (옥수수빵)

Hands up if you are big fan of #Corn ! Today we are going to make Cornbread, the Korean style - Oksusu-Ppang Oksusu (옥수수)  = Corn  Ppang (빵)  = Bread What is Oksusu-Ppang (옥수수빵) actually?  It is the memory of people who went to school decades before The American government was supporting Koreans' nutrition by sending them tons and tons of cornmeal. Some got the idea to make cornbread out of it and distribute the bread through the school system. After Korean War the school provided this daily snack to the students just before last class was finished. Oksusu-Ppang has an intense corn flavor and it's fluffy like a sponge.
