#CHILLWITHME: TINTERLAND SELFIE COFFEE & BREAD, PUCHONG

What's new in Bandar Puteri Puchong over the weekend?

TINTERLAND SELFIE COFFEE & BREAD make their way to Puchong and the cafe makes its first appearance on last weekend, 7th February 2015. #TINTERLAND is located next to ORCHARD INN HOTEL and operates 24 hours a day.

We decided to pay a visit to the new cafe a few days after its opening. The first impression is more like a bakery shop than a cafe. You can see the bread shelves even before you enters the place. The cafe offered an outdoor and air-conditioned area; which bakery took half of the shop's size.

We settled down at the sofa area and started to flipped through the menu. This cafe offers not limited to #Selfie coffee, bread and pastries. Sandwiches, Pizza, Salad, Soup, Western and Asian delights are also available in the menu. Here's part of the menu for your reference:-

Everything on the menu shall be place via order chit provided except for the #Selfie coffee. For this, you may need to walk over to the counter and get your order done. After deciding what to order, we called upon one of the staffs to come over to our table. Unfortunately, when question is thrown to the staff, she replied " Saya tak faham Bahasa Inggeris". Then, we spoke to her in Bahasa Melayu and yet she could not understands.

Disappointed, we asked her to bring another staff over. A male waiter came after that and yet, he is another untrained staff working at the cafe whom unable to give us a dash of confidence towards their service.

After that, I brought over the order chit to the counter and placed an order for Flat White while waiting my turn to be given details on the "Selfie" coffee itself. As it was a number "5" (Flat White ordering code) written on the order chit, she kept repeating my order as Latte rather than Flat White. The bar staff is panicking over the orders at the counter despite there are only a few customers in the cafe.

At the bakery kitchen, a whole group of people standing, talking and monkey-ing around as if no one is watching them. The unhygienic pastry chef is not wearing gloves and mouth mask while preparing the pastries too. This is rather disturbing as it's an open kitchen facing the bakery area.

After waited for approximately 10 minutes at the counter, I walked back to my table - leaving without my "Selfie" coffee. Disappointed again.

After 15 minutes, I walked back to the counter and place my "Selfie" coffee again for the second attempt. I wanted to try on the "Tinterland Pop Corn Latte" but its unavailable. So I changed to Mocha. All "Selfie" version is charged an additional RM 3/cup

Photo is taken using their SAMSUNG handphone over the counter. Pretty photo of yours from your handphone is not allowed. Only their phone is operational - keep your Iphone6 in the bag this round.

Flat White came to the table and sorry to say, the coffee art is ugly! The barista needs to improve on their skill for this.

Ok..here's the zoomed in version..

May I present to you the cafe's "superstar" - The "Selfie" Mocha. A coffee that labeled at
RM 12.90 for its price tag (RM 9.90 for Normal Mocha + RM 3.00 Selfie topping). This Mocha is overly sweet to our preference and is served in a poly foam cup. Yes, you heard me right - Poly foam cup that are used at caterings & sealed with sticker over it.

Last but not least, hot latte which I ordered at the same time with my selfie coffee came 20 minutes later than our other drinks. Checked with the bar staff, and she claimed my Latte was already served. (Which again, she mistaken my Flat White order as Latte at the first place).

Overall experience: "I might need to think twice on my second visit".
Staffs: Untrained & Not professional
Coffee: 7/10
Services: 3/10
Environment (excludes the "monkey" scene in the bakery kitchen): 7/10
Very cold air-cond, comfortable sofa

Note:

#DINEWITHME: THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR | SS15, SUBANG JAYA (KL)

Whooppsss...I just had my dinner!  What am I doing here? Come on, it's Friday! Let's chill a 'lil - Dinner extended. To be frank, I don't have much time to spend around ever since I've joined an award-winning agency few months ago. Life's pretty hectic everyday, with extreme workload and countless days of overtime.  And just because I have relocated myself to another area, my hangout place changes too. What makes the best option would be the one nearest to my office, with less traffic congestion.  Thanks to my bunch of friends whom always put me on a priority, they make the effort to come to a meeting point near me instead.  I was brought to this restaurant the other day by my friends and I found it quite a waste not to share such an interesting place with all of you.  Let me introduce you to -  THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR. Upon walking in, I was amazed by their simple yet welcoming ambiance. I was ushered in by rows of wine displ...

#DINEWITHME: YUK SOU HIN | WEIL HOTEL (IPOH)

Done with my busy schedules, I finally have the time to sit down and blog about my dining experience at YUK SOU HIN @ WEIL HOTEL (IPOH) which took place about two months ago.  I was being invited by the hotel's PR Team at the first place to drop by and review the dim sum which was spearheaded by their   Hong Kong Master Chef, Mr. Chung Ho Shi but unfortunately I'm unable to attend. Later after that, I visited the restaurant with my mum when I dropped by in Ipoh the other day.  It was a busy morning. We went to the restaurant around 11am without any advance reservation, and it took us about 25 minutes to settle down with a table.  The restaurant was packed with customers that day, due to Public Holiday.  Not my first dining experience at Weil Hotel,  YUK SOU HIN  is the final restaurant to wrap up my adventure at this new hotel besides than  THE DECK  and  TIFFIN .  Bored while waiting, I started to explore around and tappin...
