#DINEWITHME: BURPS & GIGGLES (IPOH)

It's just another cozy afternoon.

What makes it special today is the celebration honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society, The Mother's Day. And y
es, I'm back in Ipoh. Due to my hectic schedule, I only have limited time to be around town this year. Hence, only a simple luncheon was conducted before heading back to Kuala Lumpur for work, again.

While driving round and round, couldn't think where to hunt for a late lunch as its already 3pm, we decided to take a walk around the Concubine Lane area to spot if there's anything eye-catchy. Out of a sudden, a place to mind. BURPS & GIGGLES!

BURPS & GIGGLES have always been a place I wanted to visit for long, but couldn't have a chance to. The queue on weekends, not to mention during Public Holidays, is a big time killer. Lucky us, the crowd is quiet this round and we managed to hop in for some food and coffee.

Mummy & I

Nothing fancy. The two pages menu is pretty simple, but the meals are incredibly "big" in taste!

Top: Lemon Juice (RM 8)
Bottom: Creamy Mushy Goodness (RM 19)

Not the ordinary Carbonara we normally had, this Creamy Mushy Goodness has full loads of mushrooms! I can't stop digging into my mum's plate to steal off some meaty mushrooms. It wasn't "too creamy", just the right amount of cream and cheese combination.

RECOMMENDED:
Creamy Mushy Goodness (RM 19)
Mushrooms, Turkey Ham, Garlic, Grated Cheese & Basil

Another lighter version of delicious pasta served is the Ducky Glory. Smoked duck lovers will like this pasta for sure!

RECOMMENDED:
Ducky Glory (RM19)
Smoked Duck slices, Haricot beans, Mint Leaves, Toms, Olio

For someone who prefers All Day Breakfast like I do, try their Gigantor. I personally love the Spinach cake and also the sautéed mushrooms. Yes, mushrooms, mushrooms, and more mushrooms please!

Gigantor (RM 23)
Chicken Garlic Sausage, Turkey Ham, Spinach cake,
Sautéed Mushrooms, Cheese Toasted Bread

Me, enjoying my Gigantor meal

Satisfied with our lunch, we make our way home. Due to time constraint, I do not have the chance to venture this amazing cafe in whole. The food and service are good overall. If you have the chance to visit Ipoh, drop by this place to see it yourself. I can assure, every corner is way too attractive!

A lil' surprise for mom!

#DINEWITHME: THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR | SS15, SUBANG JAYA (KL)

Whooppsss...I just had my dinner!  What am I doing here? Come on, it's Friday! Let's chill a 'lil - Dinner extended. To be frank, I don't have much time to spend around ever since I've joined an award-winning agency few months ago. Life's pretty hectic everyday, with extreme workload and countless days of overtime.  And just because I have relocated myself to another area, my hangout place changes too. What makes the best option would be the one nearest to my office, with less traffic congestion.  Thanks to my bunch of friends whom always put me on a priority, they make the effort to come to a meeting point near me instead.  I was brought to this restaurant the other day by my friends and I found it quite a waste not to share such an interesting place with all of you.  Let me introduce you to -  THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR. Upon walking in, I was amazed by their simple yet welcoming ambiance. I was ushered in by rows of wine displ...

Hands up if you are big fan of #Corn ! Today we are going to make Cornbread, the Korean style - Oksusu-Ppang Oksusu (옥수수)  = Corn  Ppang (빵)  = Bread What is Oksusu-Ppang (옥수수빵) actually?  It is the memory of people who went to school decades before The American government was supporting Koreans' nutrition by sending them tons and tons of cornmeal. Some got the idea to make cornbread out of it and distribute the bread through the school system. After Korean War the school provided this daily snack to the students just before last class was finished. Oksusu-Ppang has an intense corn flavor and it's fluffy like a sponge.
