#CHILLWITHME: ZEN & CO | JAPANESE FUSION & COFFEE, HAPPY GARDEN (KL)

Just like any other weekends, my friends and I usually hang out together for lunch. Thinking of where to eat could be a multi-billion dollar question somehow. I always leave this important task for others to decide.

Little did I know, hidden inside Happy Garden there is a hippie cafe in between the row of old shops. Thanks to a friend of mine who suggested this cafe, another new hangout place has been added into my lists. This cafe is unique, serving Japanese fusion and coffee. Wait.. Jap food and coffee? Yes, weird combo when I think about it.

Let's venture into the cafe - ZEN & CO.

ZEN & CO offers a modern cafe environment with both indoor and outdoor seating. Due to the haze, we decided to dine indoor instead.

The cafe offers Appetizer, Temaki, Breakfast set, Salad, Yakitori, Maki Rolls, Donmono, Pasta & Udon and Main courses. Running a little late with an extremely hungry stomach that day, I just wanted to order everything from the menu to satisfy my hunger.

It was 4pm back then. When I initially wanted to settle down with the breakfast set, I was informed that the breakfast is not available. (I thought it is a All-Day-Breakfast kinda thing).

In a dilemma, I was forced to change my mind and placed an order for Yakitori and Steak instead. I couldn't snap any photos on the Maki Rolls and Donmono dishes, as my friends already started eating by the time I arrived.

Hot Mocha (RM 9.00)

I would recommend you to order their Yakitori. It is delicious! We tried everything except the lamb stick as I am not a fan of lamb. The yakitori is awesome, especially hotate.

RECOMMENDED: Hotate Kushi (RM 6.50 for 2 sticks)

Grilled perfectly - Very fresh & juicy

From left to right:
Negima / Marinated Chicken stick with seasoning (RM 5.50 for 2 sticks)
Kinoko Kushi / King Mushroom stick (RM 4.50 for 2 sticks)

Being a huge fan of beef, I am quite fussy when it comes to steak. I wish the steak portion could be thicker. The steak was charred perfectly but it was rather too dry when I cut through the thin slice of meat. Only a very minimal part of the medium cook portion was left. Overall, the meat is still juicy and seasoned well.

Gyu Steak (RM 30.00)
Char-grilled Sirloin with salt & pepper
served with potato wedges and assorted vegetables

My dining experience here was alright, but a bit noisy during peak hours when the cafe is packed with patrons. Coffee was up to the par.

#DINEWITHME: THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR | SS15, SUBANG JAYA (KL)

Whooppsss...I just had my dinner!  What am I doing here? Come on, it's Friday! Let's chill a 'lil - Dinner extended. To be frank, I don't have much time to spend around ever since I've joined an award-winning agency few months ago. Life's pretty hectic everyday, with extreme workload and countless days of overtime.  And just because I have relocated myself to another area, my hangout place changes too. What makes the best option would be the one nearest to my office, with less traffic congestion.  Thanks to my bunch of friends whom always put me on a priority, they make the effort to come to a meeting point near me instead.  I was brought to this restaurant the other day by my friends and I found it quite a waste not to share such an interesting place with all of you.  Let me introduce you to -  THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR. Upon walking in, I was amazed by their simple yet welcoming ambiance. I was ushered in by rows of wine displ...

#DINEWITHME: YUK SOU HIN | WEIL HOTEL (IPOH)

Done with my busy schedules, I finally have the time to sit down and blog about my dining experience at YUK SOU HIN @ WEIL HOTEL (IPOH) which took place about two months ago.  I was being invited by the hotel's PR Team at the first place to drop by and review the dim sum which was spearheaded by their   Hong Kong Master Chef, Mr. Chung Ho Shi but unfortunately I'm unable to attend. Later after that, I visited the restaurant with my mum when I dropped by in Ipoh the other day.  It was a busy morning. We went to the restaurant around 11am without any advance reservation, and it took us about 25 minutes to settle down with a table.  The restaurant was packed with customers that day, due to Public Holiday.  Not my first dining experience at Weil Hotel,  YUK SOU HIN  is the final restaurant to wrap up my adventure at this new hotel besides than  THE DECK  and  TIFFIN .  Bored while waiting, I started to explore around and tappin...
