#DINEWITHME: DINING IN THE DARK,KL

Why dine in the #DARK

Dine in the dark is all about the EXPERIENCE - you dine in completely black out environment. YES, you heard me right! It's not something new, but worth to try at least one :)

Waiting area

Upon arrival, a friendly staff greeted and welcomed us in. We are brought to the waiting area after that while they check on the reservation. Here, a welcome drink is served. The staff then came and brief us on what to expect and some safety procedures; including the menu. If you're a #Vegetarian, your alternative meals can be arrange.

Welcome drinks

While waiting, play the game provided to test your senses!

We were asked to safe keep our phones, watches and even cigarette lighter in the locker before heading in to the dark room. A key is provided to be kept with us throughout the dinner. After that, a blind staff escorted us in to the dining room. Once stepped in, we don't get to see how is it like inside the dining area as it's in darkness. We were led blindly to our table.

Pitch dark - The moment you step in to the dining area

Once settled down, the staff briefed us on the cutleries, napkin & coaster positions. Food is served course by course after that without any descriptions. We absolutely have no idea of what was served till we tasted it! We had chosen the set which paired with #wine. The Australian wine taste absolutely great!

Once our meal is over, we called the staff to escort us out from the dining area.

We were then given a piece of paper to fill in some particulars and our favorite dish before the menu was revealed.

That's what we had in the dark room for dinner!

Before leaving, bookmarks was given as souvenir :)

Door to the darkness

Price for the dinner was rather high (appx. RM 400 for 2pax) as we ordered the one with wine pairing, but the #experience is worth the price.

#DINEWITHME: BANH MI CAFE, PUCHONG

Hola #Saturday ! It's another blog on cafe review.  Let's go #Vietnamese this week. Hidden behind Columbia Asia Hospital in Bandar Puteri Puchong, this humble cafe serves cheap and delicious Vietnamese cuisines with very authentic flavors. Neither do I know this place actually exists although I've been staying around this area for the past few years. Thanks to my dear friend, Jess who brought me here. It was indeed a good place to dine for. BANH MI offers an Indoor and Outdoor seating. If you prefer eating out while chilling with that stick of ciggie, outdoor is your best choice. When we arrived, seats are still available. However, as the day pass, more and more customers are walking in and it's already full by 2.00 pm.  Indoor - Air conditioned What makes this cafe so special? The food, of course! Let's flip through the menu and see what we've got. Hungry already?  We left the ord...

Today we are going to make Cornbread, the Korean style - Oksusu-Ppang Oksusu (옥수수)  = Corn  Ppang (빵)  = Bread What is Oksusu-Ppang (옥수수빵) actually?  It is the memory of people who went to school decades before The American government was supporting Koreans' nutrition by sending them tons and tons of cornmeal. Some got the idea to make cornbread out of it and distribute the bread through the school system. After Korean War the school provided this daily snack to the students just before last class was finished. Oksusu-Ppang has an intense corn flavor and it's fluffy like a sponge.
