Thai Pandan-Wrapped Chicken
(Gai Hor Bai Toey)
Perfect party appetizer
INGREDIENTS
For the chicken
2 large pieces Chicken breast (cut into bite size pieces) or Chicken Wings (Optional)
(Marinates)1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce1 tablespoon Soya Sauce
1 teaspoon Fish Sauce (Nam Pla)
1 teaspoon Sugar
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 inch Fresh Ginger (Grated) *You can replace this with Cilantro root
6 pieces Kaffir Lime Leaves (Shredded) *You can replace this with Cilantro root*
Spring Onion Dash of White Pepper
Oil for frying
HOW TO MAKE
1. Marinate chicken with all the ingredients for 30 minutes
2. After 30 minutes, wrap the chicken with pandan leaves
After wrapping
3. Trim the access pandan leaves at the tips
After trimming :)
4. Bring the wrapped chicken to steam for approximately 30 - 45 minutes depending on your cut size pieces.
After steaming
5. Heat pan with cooking oil and fry the chicken until golden brown. Drain the excess oil and serve.
