#DINEWITHME: RUYI & LYN | BANGSAR SHOPPING CENTRE (KL)

Instagram-worthy pictures?
You know..the mini-sized Nasi Lemak, Chicken rice and Mango sticky rice "sushi"...yes, that one I'm talking about!

RUYI & LYN is first of its kind in Malaysia serving contemporary Pork-Free East Asian concoctions, occupying a 22,000 sq ft space at a prime location atop Bangsar Shopping Centre. "RUYI" lies in the meaning of "as you wish/desire" and LYN, the young and beautiful owner of the place itself.

I was at RUYI & LYN the other day to host a (just-the-two-of-us) birthday dinner for a girlfriend of mine, Jess. It was an amazing speakeasy lounge and restaurant to dine and chill .

Once you arrived at Level 4, do expect warm smiles. The hostess will then bring you to a well-appointed lounge while waiting for them to get the table ready. If you are dining, you'll be ushered to your table; passing through a mini tunnel-like walkway into the huge red-carpeted main hall. RUYI & LYN was so spacious that it has few sections to cater to different type of patrons, may it be business meetings or individuals.

The whole place is decked out in designer furniture from Stellar WorksGandiablasco & Linds Furniture - to name a few.  That's like sitting on the Pradas and Guccis of the furniture world!

Did you know the real backbone of RUYI

The Oriental Group of Restaurants is the answer. The giant group owned by Dato' Sri Philip Siew (also Lyn's father) that runs banquet houses such as Oriental PavilionOriental BanquetNoble HouseNoble BanquetThe Ming RoomMaju PalaceThe Han RoomOriental Viva and Noble Mansion

Be prepared for dazzling spotlight and red-carpet moment. RUYI & LYN does that to make every customer feel like a star!

Beverage Menu

We ordered a mix and match of rice, seafood, soup and dessert. And of course, the most wanted Ruyi's SushiIf you're on Instagram, I bet you have seen a lot photos of this "superstar" dish before. A Malaysian dish inspired Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak converted into mini-sized sushi.

Like drinking creamy soyabean-taste like soup.
Very creamy and very lightly seasoned.

Baked large river prawn with miso cheese sauce

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Chef's Ebiki Rice (RM 43)

You gotta try this. It's so delicious.
I have to give a double thumbs up for this dish!
The rice is fried perfectly with generous amount of seafood and not oily at all.

To surprise the birthday girl, I ordered Chocolate Embrace in advance and requested to have the wishes written on the plate when served. Thanks to the floor staff for the arrangement.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Chocolate Embrace (RM 26)
Warm chocolate with parfait

One luxury chocolate treat to end the night with.
I personally like this dessert a lot!

Happy Birthday my dear bestie!

I like everything about RUYI & LYN. The food, ambiance and service was amazing. It's hard not to love this place! Satisfied with the dinner, we make a move to WIP for the second round.

#DINEWITHME: THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR | SS15, SUBANG JAYA (KL)

Whooppsss...I just had my dinner!  What am I doing here? Come on, it's Friday! Let's chill a 'lil - Dinner extended. To be frank, I don't have much time to spend around ever since I've joined an award-winning agency few months ago. Life's pretty hectic everyday, with extreme workload and countless days of overtime.  And just because I have relocated myself to another area, my hangout place changes too. What makes the best option would be the one nearest to my office, with less traffic congestion.  Thanks to my bunch of friends whom always put me on a priority, they make the effort to come to a meeting point near me instead.  I was brought to this restaurant the other day by my friends and I found it quite a waste not to share such an interesting place with all of you.  Let me introduce you to -  THE PENTHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR. Upon walking in, I was amazed by their simple yet welcoming ambiance. I was ushered in by rows of wine displ...

#DINEWITHME: YUK SOU HIN | WEIL HOTEL (IPOH)

Done with my busy schedules, I finally have the time to sit down and blog about my dining experience at YUK SOU HIN @ WEIL HOTEL (IPOH) which took place about two months ago.  I was being invited by the hotel's PR Team at the first place to drop by and review the dim sum which was spearheaded by their   Hong Kong Master Chef, Mr. Chung Ho Shi but unfortunately I'm unable to attend. Later after that, I visited the restaurant with my mum when I dropped by in Ipoh the other day.  It was a busy morning. We went to the restaurant around 11am without any advance reservation, and it took us about 25 minutes to settle down with a table.  The restaurant was packed with customers that day, due to Public Holiday.  Not my first dining experience at Weil Hotel,  YUK SOU HIN  is the final restaurant to wrap up my adventure at this new hotel besides than  THE DECK  and  TIFFIN .  Bored while waiting, I started to explore around and tappin...
